The Mastery Loop

How GradeFlow Works

A continuous feedback cycle that runs 24/7. Students receive on-demand formative feedback, they improve their project before they submit. Teachers get visibility into productive struggle and receive a polished completed project that have been pre-graded by GradeFlow instead of low quality incomplete work.

01

Work

Students build real projects inside embedded Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides; the same professional tools they'll use in the workforce. Teachers set up assignments in minutes using the AI builder or pick from the curriculum marketplace.

02

Evaluate

Students click Evaluate at any time; at 11 AM or PM, on Monday or a Sunday, with or without their teacher being awake. Their work is reviewed against their teacher's rubric in seconds. GradeFlow validates process and product, not just answers.

03

Get Hints

Students receive instant, specific, actionable guidance; not vague encouragement or answers. Hints guide improvement without giving away answers.

04

Master

Students iterate until mastery. By the time the teacher reviews, the learning has already happened. Teachers see the full journey; every revision, every iteration, not just the final product.

“By the time the teacher reviews, the learning has already happened.”

This loop runs 24/7. Students get project-based learning experience with on demand formative feedback at anytime. Teacher get their time back.

Built by a Teacher. Trusted by Teachers.

About GradeFlow

Todd Benrud is not a tech founder who read about education. He's a classroom teacher who built the tool he couldn't find. He's still teaching today.

GradeFlow was born in the classroom. After 20+ years of teaching — including evenings grading instead of being with family and watching talented colleagues burn out — Todd Benrud started building the tool he couldn't find anywhere else.

The first GradeFlow prototype was built in 2015 using Google Forms and Apps Script. What followed was a decade of iteration, pilot testing, and refinement — all while Todd continued to teach full time. That dual perspective means every feature is designed by someone who lives the challenges teachers face every single day.

GradeFlow's mission: Innovate. Automate. Empower. Technology should free teachers to do what they do best — inspire, guide, and connect with students — while AI handles the heavy lifting of grading, feedback, and project creation.
